Florence E. (Warner) Comp, 88, of Carlisle, died Thursday, March 17, 2005, at home.

She was born Jan. 1, 1917, in Hampden Township, and was a daughter of the late John H. and Bessie (Jumper) Warner.

She was the widow of Emory Comp, who died in 1973. Florence retired from Carlisle Tire and Wheel Co. after 27 years of service and was a member of the Quarter Century Club. She had also worked at the former Carlisle Shoe Company for 19 years. She was a faithful member of Newville Assembly of God and the Adult Sunday School Class.

She was preceded in death by three brothers, Harry, Floyd and Elmer Warner Sr.; and three sisters, Vernal Barker, Edna Evans and Ardella Raudabaugh. She is survived by a sister, Mildred Rhoads of Ickesburg; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, March 22, at 10:30 a.m. at Ewing Brothers Funeral Home, 630 S. Hanover St., Carlisle, with the Rev. Jeffrey W. Kettering officiating. Buaial will be in Westminster Memorial Gardens, Carlisle. Visitation will be at the funeral home Monday, March 21, from 7 to 9 p.m.
