The obituary for Mrs. Minnie Abercrombie stated that funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon, October 9, at 2 o'clock at the Ash Grove Christian church, Joe Veach, pastor of the First Christian Church of Windsor, officiating. Burial was in Ash Grove cemetery. Mrs. Minnie Abercrombie, daughter of John Carroll and Nancy Jane Storm, was born in Stewardson township, Shelby County, November 9th, 1877. She passed away at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Thomas J. Leggitt, of Windsor, at 11 p.m. on October 7th, 1951 at the age of 73 years, 11 months. On February 3rd, 1896, she was united in marriage with Howard Seward. To this union were born two children, Helen and Kenneth. Mr. Seward passed away in 1899. In August 1907, she was married to William Raymond Abercrombie of Ash Grove. To this union were born seven children, three daughters and four sons. One daughter, Vera, died when small. In 1924 she united with the Christian church in Ash Grove, transferring her membership to the Windsor Christian church on April 20, 1946. Surviving were five sons, Kenneth Seward of Steubenville, Ohio, Glen Abercrombie and Everett Abercrombie of Mattoon, Oris Abercrombie of Marion, Ill., Otis Abercrombie of Shelbyville; three daughters, Mrs. Clay Cutler of Beecher city, Mrs. Thomas Leggitt of Windsor, and Mrs. Truman Stearns of Sullivan; one step-daughter Mrs. William Tozer of Granite city; one brother, G. G. Storm of Chicago; three sisters, Mrs. Charles Leathers, Mrs. Bertha Dappert and Mrs. Lily Strohl, all of Stewardson, 13 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
