Annie L. Colwell was born March 21, 1922 to Leonard and Susie (Tamplin) Fielder. The family moved to Oklahoma when she was a child and she attended Port School, graduating in 1941.

In 1941, she married Wayne Birmingham and he died in 1971. She married Clifford Colwell on Aug. 19, 1978 in Sentinel.

She worked as a nurse at Hannas and Stowers Hospital in Sentinel for several years. In 1963, she began working at Southwest State Bank where she was a cashier until she retired in 1983.

She traveled with her husband and visited over 32 states and Canada.

Survivors include her husband; two sons, Lendell Birmingham and wife Carolyn of Sherman TX, and Jerry Birmingham and wife Elaine of Biloxi MS; four grandchildren and several great-grandchildren; sisters, Carrie Reeves of Elk City and Sue Graves and husband Randy of Oklahoma City.
