Walter W. Kornegay of Dodson, La., died Monday, January 22, at 2:40 a.m. He was 96 years of age last October 30.

Mr Kornegay was a native of Henry County, Alabama, having moved to Winn Parish in 1904.

Funeral services were conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the Chapel of Edmonds Funeral Home in Jonesboro, with Rev. Mike Igo, pastor of Dodson Baptist Church, officiating. Burial was in Zion Hill Cemetery near Tannehill.

He is survived by one sister, Mrs. Eric Hall of Beaumont, Texas; two sons, Henry A. Kornegay of Dodson, and Lester Kornegay of Dothan, Alabama; two daughters, Mrs. Mamie Nicklas of Dodson and Mrs. W. L. Sowers of Winnfield; seven grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren, and one great, great grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mrs. Mary Price Kornegay who died December 27, 1945, a son, and three daughters.
