John Brown Hayden, a farmer residing 4 miles south of Corydon, passed away Sunday (4 Nov) afternoon of dropsy.
He was 76[sic] years 2 months and 29 days of age.
He was a native of Kentucky, but has lived in this county several years.
Funeral services were held yesterday (6 Nov) morning at the church of the Most Precious Blood Catholic Church at New Middletown. Burial was in the church cemetery.
Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Maggie Hayden; 2 sons, Silas and Lambert Hayden of this county; 2 daughters, Mrs. Rebecca Brangers of Bellevue, Ky., and Mrs. Lana[sic] Huffman of Massillon, Ohio; 31 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, and a sister, Mrs. Julia Hall of Indianapolis.
