Elsie Ann Cobbett, 84, of South Bethlehem, formerly of St. Charles, Kellersburg and Widnoon, died peacefully in her sleep on Thursday evening, April 3, 2008, at her residence at the South Bethlehem House.
She lived most of her life in the communities around South Bethlehem.

Born June 23, 1923, in Templeton, she was the daughter of Worthington C. Anderson and Charlotte Hamilton Anderson. Mrs. Cobbett attended the Templeton schools.

She married Raymond C. Cobbett, and he died April 15, 1992. Mrs. Cobbett was a homemaker, and she worked for Clark's Grill in the 1940s. She was of the Protestant faith. Mrs. Cobbett enjoyed reading romance novels and talking on the phone. She also enjoyed gardening and visiting with her friends in the South Bethlehem House, but most of all, her greatest love was her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Cobbett is survived by two sons, Raymond "Butch" Cobbett and his wife, Shirley, of St. Charles Road, New Bethlehem, and Ted Cobbett and his wife, Joyce, of New Bethlehem; one daughter, Theresa Wright and her husband, Jack, of Kellersburg; one sister, Seroba Anderson of Kittanning; and one sister-in-law, Rita Anderson of Templeton.

Also surviving are eight grandchildren, Ray Cobbett and friend, Connie Fauzey, Adam Cobbett, Karla Cobbett, Teddy Cobbett and wife, Missy, Jack Wright and wife, Carrie, Brian Wright and wife, Mandy, Becky Rebola and husband, James, and David Wright and wife, Maleigha; 15 great-grandchildren, Justin Swanson, Cheyanna, Lauren, Elissa,
Marshall, Austin, and Shelbie Wright, Grant Rupp, Madisen, Lainey and Averie Rebola, Paiton Switzer, and Sydney, Chase, and Camrya Cobbett; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by four sisters, Alfretta Kerr, Erma and Pearl Anderson, and Bessie Elkin; two brothers, William and James Anderson; and one granddaughter, Michelle Wright.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday and from noon to 1 p.m. Tuesday at the Bish Memorial Funeral Home, 206 South St., New Bethlehem. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home with the Rev. Randy L. Evans, the Clarion, Venango, Forest Visiting Nurses Association chaplain, officiating.

Interment will be in Kellersburg Methodist Cemetery.
