Blancett retired as an oil field supervisor. He was a member of First Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon, the local AARP Chapter and President of True Homecoming Association.
He was a lifetime resident of Young county.
Survived by his wife; four daughters - Elaine Winingham and Gayle Palmer, both of Olney; Diane Cotter of Wichita Falls; Jacklyn Allmond of Schaumburg, IL; one sister - Paul DaVault of Arlington; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren.
