Oct. 4, 1935, Southern Aegis:Funeral services for Joe F. Baswell, 68, a good farmer of near Ashville, who died suddenly Thursday night, September 26, were conducted at the Hopewell church, by Rev. J. L. Hallmark.
Members of his family found Mr. Baswell dead in bed early Thursday morning and it is thought he suffered a heart attack.
He had been in perfect health and had done a hard day's work on the farm on the day before, and had made no complaint.
Surviving him are three daughters and five sons, besides a host of relatives and others who will miss him.
