Mr. Burns was born in Oklahoma to George and Ida Smith Burns.
He was married in 1923 to Fannie Malone in Oak Hill, Oklahoma. He had lived in Lakeview for the past 30 years.
Prior to coming to Lakeview, Mrs. Burns worked for Derrick's Lumber and Coal Company for 28 years. He worked 22 years for Fremont Sawmill in Lakeview.
Mr. Burns was a 60-year member of the International Order of Odd Fellows and a 64-year member of Woodmen of the World.
Survivors include his wife, Fannie, Lakeview; son, Lonnie E. Burns, Canton, Texas; daughters, Charlene Pardue and Barbara Singleton, both of Lakeview; sisters, Elsie Crawford, Christene, Texas; Verna M. Idgley and Lousie Burdue, both Galt, Calif., and Edith Cochran, Lodi, Calif.; nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
