She married her husband Jerome on Thanksgiving Day 1936. To this union was born eight children, Mary Louise Hopkins, Gerald Eisert, Sandra (Charles) Morgan, Michael (Carole)Eisert, Timothy (Martha) Eisert, Cherryl Jones, Patrice Eisert, and Jean Eisert. Also left to cherish her memory are her 21 grand-children and 27 great-grandchildren.
Winifred was predeceased by her parents, her sisters, Mattie Magee, Florence Heaps, and brother Kenneth Evans. Her husband Jerome and son, Jean, also daughter-in-law Mildred Eisert, and son-in-law John Hopkins.
Winnie and Jerry were among the founding member of Our Lady of Mercy Church located on Bartlett Road in Harborcreek. Each held many church offices and both were members of the church choir. They were also active in Boy Scouting in the Harborcreek area, as Den Mother and Senior Explorer Leader.
While their children were growing up, their house was always opened to the friends of their children and there was always room for one more. Many evenings as many as 20 young people would be dancing and listening to music in the Eiserts basement. Winnie and Jerry were mom and dad to all of them.
William D. Elkin Funeral Home, 65 South Lake Street, North East handled the arrangements. A mass of Christian Burial followed at Our Lady of Mercy Church. Interment in Wales Cemetery.
