Christian Advocate, communist and freedom fighter, had a prominent role in many unitaries initiatives such as Assamblea de Catalunya. For this militancy, was arrested and imprisoned in 1973 on the famous "batuda dels 113" . In 1975 he was one of the founders of the Catalan Association of former political prisoners, of which he was secretary. He was alderman of the city of Barcelona from 1954 to 1958, when the Franco regime, bound by its international context, was forced to give a first timid steps of overture. He returned to be, as in democracy, from 1979 to 1982, with PSUC. He was also director of social services of the Generalitat restored and deputy provincial health official. From this office he promoted the reform of psychiatric care, with the creation of "day care centers" and upgrading of health facilities. He was named Doctor Honoris Causa from the Polytechnic University of Catalunya.
