Funeral services for Blanche Newell Walker, of Brookhaven, are 10 a.m. on Tuesday, June 15, at Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Brookhaven, with burial in the church cemetery. Brookhaven Funeral Home on Natchez Drive is in charge of arrangements.
Visitation is Monday from 5 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home, and on Tuesday at the church from 9 a.m. until the time of the service.
Mrs. Walker, 90, died June 12, 2010, at her residence. She was born in Lincoln County on Aug. 27, 1919, to William Decatur Newell and Martha Newell Newell.
She was a homemaker and a former beautician, and a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church for 77 years.
Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Robert Walker; her brothers, Marion Newell, Burton Newell, Rudolph Newell and Lee Newell; and her sisters, Amye Montgomery, Maebell Britt.
She is survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
