Clarence E. (Jim) Burger, aged 79, of State Line, Pa., died Thursday at 3 a.m. at the Waynesboro Hospital after three days illness.
He was born in Washington County, son of the late Henry and Margaret (Mullen) Burger. He was a retired farmer and a member of the Trinity UB Church, State Line.
He is survived by 13 children, Mrs. Bruce Moats, Mrs. Howard Spangler, Mrs. Woodrow Burkett, Raymond Burger, all four of State Line; Mrs. Bernard Barnhart, Greencastle; Lewis Burger, Waynesboro; Mrs. Benjamin Beard, Mrs. Garrett Poffenberger, Harry Burger, Joseph Burger, all of Hagerstown; Lloyd of Essington; Elmer, Gaithersburg; Phares Burger, Smithsburg; 40 grandchildren, 43 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 2:30 p.m. from the Trinity UB Church, State Line, by the Rev. N. W. Brechbiel, Rev. Earl J. Ensminger and Rev. George E. Weaver. Interment in Cedar Hill Cemetery.
Friends may call at the Minnich Funeral Home in Greencastle Friday evening 7-9 or at the church one hour prior to the service.
