Mrs. Versia R. Giles Cunningham, 65, of Rt. 3, Americus, died at 7:15 AM Wednesday, July 5, 1967, in St. Elizabeth Hospital, where she had been a patient since Sunday. Born near Brookston, she moved to Delphi where she was graduated from high school in 1919 and married Alfred J. Cunningham in 1922. She spent most of her life at Americus.
Surviving with her husband are four sons, Dale L. Cunningham of Clifton, NJ; Alfred J. (Jack) Cunningham, Jr. of Rt. 13; Gene Cunningham of Rt. 12; and Robert Cunningham of Lafayette; five daughters, Mrs. Doyle Banghart of Mishawaka, Mrs. James Haller of Rt. 1, Monticello; Mrs. Robert Foster of Lafayette; Mrs. Clifford Anderson of Waukegan, IL; and Mrs. Marjorie Swaney of Denver, CO; two brothers, Russell Giles of Indianapolis, and Dale Giles of Lafayette; two sisters, Mrs. Lowell Henderson of Rt. 1, and Miss Zoe Giles of Logansport; 28 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Services July 8, Hippensteel Chapel, the Rev. Joseph G. Wick officiating; burial at Battle Ground Cemetery.
