CHESAPEAKE - Marian Lillan Belangia, 80, widow of William A. Belangia, died Jan. 6, 2009, in her home.
Marian was predeceased by her parents, James H. and Ina J. Dodge; her daughter, Diane Gibelyou; three sisters, Irma Summerlin, Thelma Beal and Mildred Clark; and three brothers, Henry, Edward and James Dodge.
Survivors include two sons, William Belangia Jr. and Evelyn of Bruceton Mills, W.Va., and Dennis Belangia and Phyllis of Chesapeake; two daughters, Deborah Browning and Kenneth of Anchorage, Alaska, and Connie Manasco and John of Key West, Fla.; and two brothers, Herbert Dodge of Chesapeake and Lawrence E. Dodge of Pine Grove, N.C. She had 10 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
She was a longtime supporter of the Republican Committee and loved to play bingo and go shopping. She was a member of the Living Water Church of God. She taught Sunday school in her earlier years and loved worshipping God. She was a wonderful friend, mother and grandmother who loved her children with all her heart and she will truly be missed.
Visitation will be Friday from 7 to 9 p.m. in the Living Water Church of God, 1300 Jackson Ave. The funeral will be held in the church at 11 a.m. Saturday with the Rev. Jack D. Sawyer officiating. The family will receive friends at the home of Dennis and Phyllis Belangia, 1412 Edgewood Ave., Chesapeake, at all other times.
