Mr. Dodge was the son of James and Ina Dodge. He proudly served in the US Army, 82nd Airborne as a paratrooper during the Korean War. While serving in Germany, he competed as a Welterweight on the US Boxing Team. He continued his service to his country working as a painter at Norfolk Naval Shipyard. After his retirement from the shipyard, he moved to Selma, NC where he went on to retire from the Town of Selma as a water plant operator. He enjoyed bowling, fishing, country music and spending time with his family.
