James was the husband of Marie (Stoll) Sands and the father of Joan.

He was an owner and executive of the Sanco Piece Dye Works, a silk mill in Phillipsburg, NJ. His brothers Albert, Charlie and Jack were also in the textile business.

"Jimmy" was loved by everyone that knew him. He was kind, generous and fun loving. He was active in the community and served on the school board.

He was best known for the way that he decorated his home at Christmas time. People came from surrounding towns just to see his elaborately lit display.
