She retired in 1989, from Trinity Lutheran School, and also taught elementary school at Gethsemene Lutheran. She was a member of Ascension Lutheran Church, a Red Cross volunteer, student tutor for Fort Wayne Community Schools and she worked at Scotts Grocery, Stellhorn Village.
Surviving are daughters, Claire Beecher of Oak Park, Calif., Christine Lloyd of Fort Wayne; sons, Paul Beecher of Fort Wayne and Curtis Beecher of Garrett; sister, Lydia Buehrer of Litchfield, Ill.; brother, Martin Laufer of Joliet, Ill.; and four grandchildren.
Memorial service is 11 a.m. Saturday at Ascension Lutheran Church, 8811 St. Joe Road, Fort Wayne. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service. The Rev. John Stube is officiating. Burial in Concordia Gardens Cemetery. Preferred memorials to Bethesda Lutheran Home or Visiting Nurse Service & Hospice. Arrangements by Northeast Indiana Cremation Society, Fort Wayne.
