James McDaniel
James "Jim" McDaniel,52 of 689 Florence Ave. died Monday morning (Dec.25) in an auto accident in Albemarle County.
He was born in Waynesboro on June 17,1927, a son of Lacy N. and Edith Brown Mc Daniel.
He retired from Crompton Co. in 1981 and was a member of the Waynesboro Church of the Brethren.He was active in the Augusta County Babe Ruth Leaque for many years.
Surviving are his widow,Phyllis P.Mc Daniel; a son Scott McDaniel of Waynesboro,a daughter,Mrs.Daniel (Cheryl) Landram of Springfield,Ga; a sister Freda Magnus of Newport News; a brother,Alan McDaniel of Waynesboro;three grandchildren;four nephews;and three nieces.
A service will be conducted at 2p.m. Thursday at Waynesboro Church of the Brethren by the Rev.Byron Flory.Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Nicky Marion,Melvin Talley,Pete McDaniel,Steve Brown,Kenneth Dalton,Eugene Breen,Harry Elrod and Sam Simpkins.
Honorary pallbearers will be Wallace Morris,Kenny Snyder,Melvin Almarode Jr.,Taz McDaniel Jr.,Ray McDaniel,David Brown,Jerry Rodgers,G.W.Fitzgerald and Arthur Terrell.
