Freda M. Magnus, 72, went to be with her heavenly Lord and Father, Friday, Jan. 5, 2007.
She was born to Edith and Lacy McDaniel in Waynesboro, Virginia.
She retired from Bell Atlantic in 1988 as a supervisor after 33 years of service. She was a member of Ivy Farms Church of the Brethren and the Church Women United of Newport News. She was also a charter member of the Red Hatters Club and the Telephone Pioneers, where she was past president of the Peninsula Club. She was also the past president and district director of the Virginia Peninsula Business and Professional Women's Organization.
Mrs. Magnus was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, James McDaniel; and her husband, Edwin W. Magnus, who passed away March 2, 1982.
Her memory is left to be cherished by her two sons, Edwin L. Magnus and his wife, Wanda, and Douglas B. Magnus and his wife, Michelle; four grandchildren, Amanda, Alexandra, Emmallie and Delicia; her great -grandchild, Jandy; her brother, Alan McDaniel and his wife, "V.V."; sisters-in -law, Betty and Delma; numerous nieces and nephews; and her beloved and special friend, Debbie.
The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Sunday, January 7, 2007, at Peninsula Funeral Home.
A service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday, January 8, 2007, at the funeral home followed by burial at Peninsula Memorial Park.
Memorial donations can take the form of contributions to Ivy Farms Church of the Brethren.
