Henry Thomas Arney of Rt. 1, Arthur City, Texas, (Chicota) died at 10:25 a.m. Friday, March 7, 1980. Mr. Arney was born January 19, 1902, a son of John Arney and Margaret Pigg Arney. He attended schools in Oklahoma and moved to Chicota in 1920, where he married Rosalie (Rosie) Booth on July 12, 1922. He was a retired farmer.

Mr. Arney is survived by his wife; five daughters, Phara Beatrice (Davis) Layton and Nathalie Blackburn of Fort Worth, Mrs. Wayne (Freda Cleon) Vanderburg of Chicota, Mrs. Billy (Anna Beth) Parson of Belk and Miss Glenda Jean Arney of Chicota; four sons, Lawrence Odus (Buck) Arney of Chicota, Nolan Norris Arney of Floydada, Hollis Lynn Arney of Cameron and Von Malcolm Arney of Arcadia; three sisters, Mrs. Jessie Barnes of Maysville, Oklahoma, Mrs. Leora Smith of Breckenridge and Mrs. Edna Capps of Nashville, Arkansas; three brothers, Jewell Arney and Archie Arney, both of Nashville, Arkansas and Arlie Arney of Prescott, Arkansas; 19 grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
