Lawrence Odus "Buck" Arney was born June 15, 1924, to Henry Thomas Arney and Rosalie (Rosie) Booth Arney. He married Lillie Virginia Mahan on March 12, 1944, in Lamar County, Texas.

He is survived by his wife Lillie Arney; two sons, Lawrence Wayne Arney of League City and Phillip Nolan Arney of Houston; a daughter, Mrs. George (Ruby Juannell) Owens of Austin; his mother, Rosalie Arney of Fort Worth; three brothers, Nolan Norris Arney of Plainview, Hollis Lynn Arney of Cameron, and Von Malcolm Arney of Arcadia; five sisters, Phara Beatrice (Davis) Layton, Nathalie Blackburn, and Glenda Jean Arney, all of Fort Worth; Mrs. Wayne (Freda) Vanderburg of Powderly; Mrs. Billy (Beth) Parson of Belk; five grandchildren and one great grandchild.
