Mrs. Mildred LaVonne Liley, 59, 1116 Park Blvd., died Thursday afternoon at a Rome hospital following an illness of several months.

She was born in Floyd County on June 11,1922,the daughter of the late C.E. Phillips Sr. and Corine Eakin Phillips. She had spent her entire life in Floyd and was a member of the Baptist church. For several years she was associated with WestPoint Pepperell in Lindale. Her husband,A.W. Bill Liley, who she married in 1940, died in 1972.

Survivors include two sons, Arthur M. (Bill) Liley, Cedartown, and Michael Liley,Rome Rte 6;one sister, Mrs.Ken Richards, Augusta;two brothers, James T. Phillips,Pensacola, Fla., and C.E. Phillips, Jr., Bacliff, Tex.;step-mother, Mrs. C.E. Phillips Sr., Rome; and four grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the chapel of Talley Brothers Funeral Home with the Rev. Paul Loyd officiating. Interment will follow in the family lot at Wax Cemetery.

Active pallbearers will include Lewis Massey,Chip Nelson, Johnny Philps,Loyd Carter,Bobby King and Dean Tanner.
