Isabella was the first daughter and second child of Justice Samuel Creighton and his wife Arabella (Gilleland) Creighton of Hancock County, Ohio. Isabella was named after her paternal grandmother Isabella (Jones) Creighton whom she would have known as a little girl before the family moved West from Pennsylvania to Ohio in 1841 when she was 3.
Isabella died of a bad case of measles during the late summer of 1847. Later her older brother Andrew and younger brother John Creighton would be buried nearby to her in this same cemetery.
In more recent years Isabella's stone has been remounted on concrete. For many years it lay flush to the ground with ground cover growing over. In the remounting process part of the stone was cut-off and compromised.
