BARTONVILLE -- Herman C. Allen, 87, of 3711 Granville Ave. died at 4:45 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 14, 1993, at his residence.
Born Dec. 5, 1905, in Lincoln to Wesley and Margaret C. Stokes Allen, he married Edna F. VanFossan in 1927 in Logan County. She died in 1971. He also was preceded in death by one son, Jack Allen, 11 brothers and nine sisters.
Surviving are one son, Donald E. of Illinois; one daughter, Evelyn McMullen of Peoria; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; three great-great- grandchildren; and one brother, Carl of Long Beach, Calif.
He was a machine operator at Keystone Steel & Wire Co. for 27 years, retiring in 1969. Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Endsley & Son Funeral Home, 1202 W. Garfield, Bartonville. The Rev. James M. Sandy will officiate. Visitation will be one hour before services at the funeral home. Burial will be in Swan Lake Memory Gardens in Peoria.
