W.H. Irby Rites Held On Monday
Funeral services for William Henry Irby were held Monday from the First Baptist Church of Durant at 2:00 p.m. with the Rev. Durrell Makamsom, Rev. C.M. Day, Rev. R. E. Wasson and Rev. Curtis Ellis officiating.
Mr. Irby, retired merchant of Durant, died of a heart attack at his home on Sunday at 5:45 a.m. after a two-month illness. A native of Holmes County, Mr. Irby was born in Pickens on August 7, 1883 and had lived in Durant for a number of years. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Durant.
He leaves his widow, Mrs. Betty Ola Durham Irby of Durant; a brother, R.E. Irby, Durant; a sister, Mrs. D.E. Osborne of Memphis and several nieces and nephews.
His nephews served as pallbearers.
Burial was in Mizpah Cemetery with Souther Funeral Home of Durant in charge of arrangments.
