John J. Sether Born 84 Years Ago in Carlisle
Life-Long Resident And Highly Respected Resident Dies

John J. Sether, 84, died Sunday, November 13, at his home following an illness of two weeks from asthma and complications.

Mr. Sether was born March 2, 1871 in Oscar township, the son of Mr. and Mrs. John Sether. He grew to manhood there and was one of the successful farmers of the community. He worked hard and he loved the soil and devoted his life to its care and development, feeling that the soil was a heritage to be preserved for future generations.

He was married June 20, 1901 to Ida Skistad at the South Friborg church and they lived to celebrate their golden wedding in 1951. In 1950 they moved to Fergus Falls to reside.

Mr. Sether was a director of the C & O Elevator and a director of the Farmers Telephone Company for several years. He was also a faithful member of the Bethlehem Lutheran Church.

One son and one daughter preceded him in death, as well as
his parents and a brother and sister.

A kind and loving father and a good citizen he will be deeply missed in the community.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Bethlehem Lutheran church, Rev. H. I. Muus officiating. Interment will be in the South Friborg Lutheran church in Carlisle township. Friends may call at the Glende-Johnson Funeral Home.
