German and Bohemian Nobility. She was a daughter of the German King Philipp of Swabia and the Byzantine princess Irene. Her father promised her hand to Otto von Wittelsbach in 1203 to form an alliance against Hermann I von Thüringen. In 1207 he betrothed her to the bohemian prince Wenzel I. As revenge Otto killed Philipp in 1208. Because her mother died two months after him she and her sisters were raised by the Bishop of Speyer. In early 1220 she was married to Wenzel.
