She married twice: first to Oliver McPheeters on October 29, 1873 in Clark Co., Illinois; and second to James Chiddix around 1902.

Laura McPheeters Chiddix, 82 years old, died at 12:45 o'clock Tuesday afternoon at the Rose Home for Aged Women. The body was removed to the H.P. Martin funeral home where services will be held at 2 o'clock Thursday afternoon with continued services at 3:30 o'clock at the York, Ill., cemetery with burial there. Rev. H.H. Drake will officiate at the services here. She is survived by three neices and four nephews, Mrs. Cora Miller, James F. Miller and James L. Foster, all of Terre Haute, and Bert Crough and family of Hutsonville, Ill.
