Mary/Marie's name is spelled various ways.
When she was born, her name was spelled: Maria Margaritha Waelti
When she married C.L. Hilpert in 1990, she signed her name as Marie Walti.
When she married Christ Auer in 1997, she signed her name as Mary Walty
On her probate her maiden name is shown as Waltie.

In 1883, 1885 or 1886 a daughter Merea Margherite Luenberger is born in Switzerland (she was later adopted and name changed to Myrtle Green)

Sometime between 1886 and 1889, Mother and daughter immigrated to the US.

1890 May 13: Marie Walti married Charles/Carl L Hilpert and they had four children (twin boys, another son and a daughter). All the older children (Carl's three and her daughter Merea) are placed in an orphanage because Marie doesn't want them.

1895 or 1896, Marie and Charles are divorced.

1897 July 16th: Mary Walty married Christ Auer in Salt Lake City, Salt Lake, Utah

1902 Jan 17: COMPLAINT BY MARY AUER. State of Utah, County of Salt Lake, In the Justice's Court. The twins are "incorrigible in conduct." By now the other two children she had with Carl have died.

The case of the incorrigible Murray twins, Charles and Albert Hilpert, aged twelve years, was disposed of yesterday by the boys being delivered to their father, Leonard Hilpert, who resides at Bountiful. The mother, who has been divorced from Hilpert and is now the wife of Chris Auer of Murray, will be allowed to visit the children whenever she desires. Mrs. Marie Hoffman, 78, native of Susanville for the past 78 years died last night in the Riverside Hospital following an attack of pneumonia. She was a native of Switzerland.
Deceased is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Myrtle Luther, Salt Lake City,
Funeral arrangements will be announced by Edenholn-Morrill Funeral Home following the arrival of Mrs. Luther from Utah.

Since she owned real property at the time of her death there was an estate.
The Grantor Index provided the following:
Lassen County Probate No. 1526 in the Matter of the Estate of Marie Hoffman also known as Marie Margarita Waltie.
Marie's estate did not contain much information. The only heir listed was her daughter, Marie Margarita Luther (aka Myrtle Luther) of 341 Edith Avenue, Salt Lake City, Utah.
In April 1931 Marie began collecting an old age pension, but it was found that she was not eligible since she had $500 in savings.
