OBITUARY:
FORMER STEEL CO. WOMAN PASSES AWAY
Word has ben received here of the death of Mrs. Carl Geving of Isanti, who for many years farmed with her husband in Westfield. She was the sister-in-law of Mrs. Martin Madson of this village.
Mrs. Anna Geving was born near Sjervo, Norway, on July 25, 1873, the daughter of Erik O. Hohle and Ellen Kjelsus. She came with her parents to Rapidan, Blue Earth County, MN, in 1880, where she grew to womanhood.
She was confirmed by the Rev. M Hanson of the Norwegian Lutheran Church in 1896. On June 18, 1902, she was united in marriage to Carl Geving of Blooming Prairie. Mr. and Mrs. Geving farmed in Westfield for many years. In 1920 they moved to Isanti where they again took up farming.
Mrs. Geving is survived by her husband, one son, Carl A., and four daughters, Ella M. of the home, Mrs. Victor Thalin (Minnie E.), Mrs. George Orth (Olga H.) all of Isanti, and Mrs. Edwin Spetz (Lillian M.) of Minneapolis, eleven grandchildren and one sister, Mrs. Rena M. Holden of Mankato, and numerous other relatives.
Funeral services were held on Thursday, February 16, at the Peterson Funeral Home and the Isanti Lutheran Church at Isanti. Burial was at Union cemetery at Cambridge.
Those from this community who attended the funeral were: Mr. and Mrs. Martin Madson and Lillian, John Olson, Mrs. Olaf Olstad, Iver Hove, Mr. and Mrs. O.H. Braaten, Hayfield, Mrs. E. Langseth of Dodge Center and Mrs. and Mrs. Albert Braaten, Hayfield.
