Obit in The Anthon Herald, 11 June 1986, page 2: Funeral services for Floyd Bumsted, 59, of Smithland were held Tuesday in St. John Lutheran Church, Climbing Hill, with Rev. Walter Resner officiating. Burial was in Oak Hill Cemetery, Anthon, under direction of Walter Funeral Home of Rodney. Mr. Bumsted was born April 5, 1927, in Ida County and was raised in the Danbury and Mapleton area. He married Barbara Bueoy June 7, 1953, in Mapleton. They lived on a farm near Climbing Hill from 1954 to 1966 when they moved to Smithland. He worked with Booth & Olson Construction Company from 1954 to 1974 and then worked with Fred Carlson Construction from 1974 to 1986. He was a veteran of World War II and a member of Leslie F. Seaton Post 666, American Legion of Smithland. He also was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Climbing Hill. Survivors include his wife; a sister, Mrs. Stella Fredrickson of Mapleton and three brothers, Gaylord of Mapleton, Lloyd and Earl both of Ute.
