Mervel L. Barbay, a retired registered nurse, died Wednesday, Jan. 31, 2007, at her home in Plaquemine. She was 74, born in Humble, Texas, and reared in Conroe, Texas.
Visiting at Wilbert Funeral Home, Plaquemine, with religious service, conducted by the Rev. Stephen Fleming. Interment in Port Hudson National Cemetery.
She is survived by her husband of 56 years of marriage, Glenn Berkley Barbay Sr.; three daughters, Mervel Ann Fleming, Houston, Maela Danise Miller, Plaquemine, and Evadna G. Pelton, Baton Rouge; son, Glenn B. Barbay Jr., Baton Rouge; sister, Barbara Wunch, Highlands, Texas; brother, Daniel R. Liles, Nassau Bay, Texas; seven grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Preceded in death by her parents, Dan and Mae Liles.
