Mrs. Lula Mae Russell, 91, died Saturday at her ranch home west of Red Lodge.
She was born Apr. 21, 1881, in Clarksdale, Mo., a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jeremiah Torton. She was married to David Russell on Feb. 7, 1906, in Hemple, Mo. They farmed in Missouri until 1922 when they came to Montana and farmed in the Red Lodge area. Mr. Russell died Apr. 21, 1949.
Survivors include three sons, Raymond L. of Red Lodge, John W. of Roseburg, Ore., and Melvin E. of Red Lodge; a daughter, Mrs. Thelma McCartney of Shepherd; twin sisters, Mrs. Lillie Swails in Missouri, and Mrs. Minnie Poland of Columbus; eight grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
Services at the Olcott Funeral Home, Red Lodge. Burial in Tony cemetery.
