Martha Emeline McConnell Thornton was married on Mary 17, 1861 in DeKalb Co., MO to Jeremiah "Jerry" Todd Thornton. They had the following 15 children: William Alexander, John Boston, Sarah Cyrena (died young), Elvira Jane (Swails), Mary Frances (Minter), James Calvin, Robert, Oliver, Laura Alice (Coffey), Albert Edwin, Artie Belle, Lula May (Russell), Lillie Maud (Cane, Swails), De Ethelbert and Minnie Etta (Sherwood, Poland). There was a set of triplets and a set of twins.
