Robert Terrell, 73, died at 11:15 p.m. yesterday at the University of Virginia Hospital, where he had been a patient for the past 17 days. A member of the Waynesboro Church of the Brethren, he made his home with his daughter. Mrs. Cecil Shifflett, 1224 B. street
He was born in Augusta County, April 15, 1877, son of the late John and Mary Morris Terrell. His wife, Mrs. Nettie Norman Terrell, preceded him in death.
He is survived by three daughters, Mrs. George Shifflett, Mrs. Cecil Shifflett and Mrs. Theodore Craig, all of Waynesboro; three sons, Odie and Harvey, both of Waynesboro; and Thomas, Staunton; three brothers, Arthur, Ike, and Charlie Terrell; and one sister, Mrs. Lou Moore, all of Waynesboro; 30 grandchildren; and 24 great-grandchildren.
The body will remain at the Etter Funeral Home until 10 a.m. Friday when it will be taken to the home of Mrs. Cecil Shifflett, where it will remain until the hour of service. Funeral service will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at the Waynesboro Church of the Brethren, conducted by the Rev. V. V. Brallier, with interment in Riverview Cemetery.
Active pallbearers will be Ralph Clark, Jud East, Thomas Craig, Edward L. Lucas, Dave Shifflett and Robert St. Moyer.
Honorary pallbearers will be members of his Sunday School class.
