Mr. Sawyer worked for Georgia Power for many years. His obituary sites his survivors as his wife, three daughters, Mrs. G.D. Allen, Mrs. P.L. Broom, Mrs. L.C. Sudderth, two sons; James H. Sawyer, Jr. and C.R. Sawyer, Mrs. Claude Doly, Mrs. Fannie Berry and states he is buried in Sandy Springs Cemetery.

The military registration of his son, James Hugh Sawyer is signed by James Hunt Sawyer. The father, James Hunt Sawyer, lived at 127 East Avenue Atlanta, GA and signed his son's military registration on September 12, 1918, as "James Hunt Sawyer (Father)"

The 1870 Census states he was living in Militia District 496, Henry, Georgia. The 1880 Census states he was living in Newton, Georgia.

His death certificate, 1870, and 1880 and Census documents state his parents are F. M. Francis M. Sawyer and Minerva Hurst Sawyer.

His death certificate and obituary state he is buried in Sandy Springs Cemetery in Sandy Springs, GA.

His first wife, Virginia Henry Sawyer died in their home at 127 East Avenue on December 14, 1916. Attached is her obituary which is out of copyright.Son of Francis Marion Sawyer and Minerva Margaret Hurst Sawyer.

Married to Virginia Ann Henry in Gwinnett,Gwinnett County, Georgia on 27 Apr 1892.
