"The North Loup Loyalist", North Loup, Nebraska, Friday, Dec. 23, 1927, p 1.

After a battle with ill health covering a period of several years, Frank Greene passed away at his home early Sunday afternoon. A few days previous to his death, he was taken with one of his attacks to which he has been subject for the past year and this time lapsed into unconsciousness from which he did not rally.

Frank Leslie Greene, son of Joseph and Louisa Lewis Greene, was born at West Hallock, Illinois, November 30, 1868 and died at North Loup, Nebraska, December 18, 1927, aged 59 years, 18 days.

The family moved to Kansas, later to New York and then came to North Loup when Frank was seven years of age. This has been his home ever since.

On March 18, 1891, he was married to Lela Potter and there were born to them eight children: Leslie of Valley Falls, Kansas; Mrs. Tillie Potter of Hershey, Nebraska; Melvin Greene of North Loup, Nebraska; a babe who died in infancy; Mrs. Hettie Edwards of Valley Falls, Kansas, Glenn, Lynn and Johnnie, of North Loup.

Years ago he went forward in response to an invitation to give his heart to God, but he never became a member of the congregation of the Seventh Day Baptist church.

He was a lover of his home and his family, and music was a great joy to him. He was ambitious for those near and dear to him.

He has suffered greatly and death comes as a relief after the long struggle through which his companion has been so patient and so faithful.

Besides his wife and seven children he is survived by ten grandchildren, one sister, Mrs. Sylvia Brannon, one brother, T. Wardner Greene, both of North Loup, many relatives and friends.

Funeral services in charge of Rev. H. L. Polan were held Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Seventh Day Baptist church, and the body was laid to rest in the North Loup cemetery.

Music for the funeral was furnished by a quartette consisting of A. D. Moulton, Esther Babcock, Allen Johnson and George Hutchins.

Suggested edit: Mother's name given in most records as Louisa Lewis, however, I found a will for Addie L Fay, in Vermont, that listed Joseph A Green as her first husband and lists her sons with Joseph A Green as: Dewey L Green, Fred C Green & Frank L Green. Fay is her 2nd married name, husband being Hiland Fay.
