Palmer Sadler, 93, died on May 28, 2010, at his home in Perkins, Okla. His services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, June 1, 2010, with Pastor Robin Foster officiating at Immanuel Baptist Church in Perkins, Okla. Interment will follow at Perkins Cemetery. Strode Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Sadler was born Aug. 15, 1916, to Amos and Nora Gaither Sadler in Fallis, Okla.

He wed Ava Victoria Sadler on Aug. 13, 1938, in Stillwater, Okla.. He is preceded in death by his parents, and wife, Ava Sadler and one brother Ray Sadler.

Palmer was a farmer who was a volunteer firefighter for the city of Perkins for many years. He was also a member of the Lions Club. He enjoyed playing dominos every day.

He is survived by one son, Jerry Sadler and wife, Doris, of Perkins; two daughters, Leola Gray and husband, Jody, of Edmond, and Vickie Lockwood and husband, Lyle of Perkins; four grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. One brother, Wendell Sadler and wife Charlotte of Perkins and one sister Judy Bartram and husband Jon of Perkins.

Pallbearers will be Scott Sadler, Tony Sadler, Dusty Sadler Cash, Tom Henley, Darrell Sadler and Bill McDaniel. Honorary pallbearers will be Carrol "Beanie" Sadler and Gerry Johnson.
