Althea Barton, 604 E. Academy, died Thursday at Owatonna City Hospital. She was 79. She was born Feb. 21, 1900 in Sweden. She was employed for many years at the Kelly Co., and was also owner and operator of a grocery store on Cedar Street for several years. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church. She is survived by a daughter, Anita (Mrs. Thomas) Beaty of Spokane, six grandchildren, one great grandchild, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband and a son. Funeral services have been tentatively set for Saturday at Trinity Lutheran Church, the Rev. Raymond Haugland officiating. Burial will be in St. John Cemetery. Brick Funeral Home on Austin Road is in charge of arrangements. Memorials to Trinity Lutheran Church are preferred.
