Ferrell Rites
Funeral services for Thomas J. Ferrell, 88, were held at 3:0 p.m. Monday at Harlands Creek Baptist Church with the Reverend Mike Willoughby officiating, assisted by the Reverend Louis Bomber of Belzoni.
Mr. Ferrell died Saturday at the Holmes County Community Hospital after a lengthy illness. He was a retired farmer.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Fannie D. Ferrell of Lexington; four daughters, Mrs. W. H. Harthcock, Mrs. Clark Adams, both of Lexington, Mrs. Henry Edwards of Schlater, and Mrs. Barney Click of Jackson; six sons, Alton Ferrell, Vardaman Ferrell and Loaris Ferrell, all of Lexington, Grady Ferrell and Cecil Ferrell of Belzoni, Autry Ferrell of Anguilla; a brother, Robert Ferrell of Jackson; a sister, Mrs. Art Knott of Jackson; 27 grandchildren and 40 great-grandchildren.
Active pallbearers were grandsons; Tommy Ferrell Peter Ferrell, Kenneth Ferrell, Keith Ferrell, Lowell Alton Ferrell, Vivian Ferrell, Thomas Adams and Johnny Adams.
Honorary pallbearers were Louis Dean Ferrell, Ronald Ferrell, John A. Ferrell, Henry Edwards, Hollis Edwards, Norman Stewart, Bo Edwards, Bilbo Marshall, Harry Spencer and Elnzell Dickard.
Southern Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
