CANTON- Geraldine Deweese Putnam, age 64, was born in Haywood County, NC on Aug. 22, 1940 and passed away Monday, Dec. 13, 2004 at Haywood Regional Medical Center. She resided in Canton, NC
She was a daughter of the late Marvin Edward and Viola Elizabeth Overman Deweese. She was also preceded in death by one brother Ronald Deweese and one grandson Jessie James Putnam. Mrs. Putnam attended Dutch Cove Baptist Church and was a former employee of Canton Nursing Home and Silver Bluff Nursing Home.
She is survived by her husband of 48 years, Ralph "R.L." Putnam of Canton, one daughter Rhonda Putnam and her husband Justen of Canton, two sons Ronald Lee Putnam and his wife Vicky, and Barry Shane Putnam, all of Canton, one sister, linda Deweese Woody of Waynesville, two brothers Gary Deweese of Ellenboro and Mac Deweese of Swannanoa and three granddaughters Karol Anne, Katie Irene, and Kayla Anne Putnam.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, December 16, 2004 at the Canton Chapel of Wells Funeral Homes & Cremation Services. Reverend Ed Lowder and Reverend Brian Bird will officiate. Burial will follow at Morning Star Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:30 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home prior to the service.
