Son of Isaiah Wesley and Mary Medlin Hinson Married Samira Whitley in Union County North Carolina July 11, 1865. Rev Hinson, a Methodist minister, went from North Carolina to Arkansas in 1889 and purchased a large tract of land near El Dorado. Some years later oil was discovered on his land, making him a rich man.
