WAPAKONETA, Feb. 28—John H. Cowan, 79, a farmer, died at 2:50 a. m. Wednesday in his home Route 4, Wapakoneta, after an extended illness. He was born Mar. 20, 1871, in Auglaize co, and was a member of the Auglaize chapel church. Mr. Cowan was married July 1, 1899. to Lula Burden. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Verdetta Howell, Route 4, Wapakoneta, and Mrs. Gertrude Bartley, Route 2, Springfield; seven grandchildren; four great grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. j O. C. Layton, Alger, and one brother, Roy, McGuffey. The body will remain in the Bayliff funeral home, Cridersville, until after services at 2 p. m. Friday. The Rev. A. E. Oliver, Ridgeway, will officiate, assisted by the Rev. N. C. Macklin, of Venedocia. Burial will be in Fairmount cemetery.
