IN MEMORIAM,

Catherine Ireland McKinstry, 59, of Woodruff St., passed away on Tuesday, May 4, 2010 at the HCC at New Britain Campus.

She was the beloved wife of William McKinstry.

Born October 19, 1950 in Nuremburg, Germany she was the daughter of the late Homan and Julia (Jurema) Ireland.

Catherine retired from the Southington School System where she taught English and reading at the Kennedy Middle School and the Southington High School.

She was a certified Yoga Alliance instructor and taught for both the Southington and Farmington Adult Education Program. She was also a legal secretary for Atty. Marcus H. Bordiere in New Britain.

Cath's love of life led her to beautiful and exotic places as Madrid Spain, Casablanca Morocco, Cancun Mexico, Paris France, Venice Italy, Mykonos Greece, Maui Hawaii, Sedona Arizona, Cape Cod, Las Vegas, NV, Kennebunk, ME and Key West, FL.

Besides her husband of 31 years William, she leaves her cherished sons, Jon McKinstry and wife Jessica of Plantsville and Tom McKinstry of Southington; three grandchildren Lili, Kaelynn and Carter; mother-in-law Alice McKinstry of Newington and a brother-in-law Michael McKinstry of Newington.

The funeral will be held on Saturday, May 8, 2010 at 8:45 a.m. from the DellaVecchia Funeral Home, 211 N. Main St., Southington to St. Aloysius Church, 254 Burritt St., Plantsville for a mass at 9:30 a.m. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, New Britain. Calling hours will be Friday from 4 to 8 p.m.
