She had nine siblings beside herself: Ernest Raymond (1888-1964), Perry Fountain (1890-1974) World War II Veteran, Jennie Francis (1891-1982), Lester Lorenszo (1892-1970) World War I Veteran, Millie Caroline (1894-1951), Robert Franklin (1896-1983), Artie Beulah (1898-1976), Virgil Devine (1901-1979) & Mary Pauline (1907-1988).

By 1910 she and her family lived in Fall City, King County, Washington.

On 17 Jan 1921, at age 17, she married Howard Arthur Stow (1896-1968), a World War I Veteran in Tacoma, Pierce County, Washington, witnessed by Artie Beulah and Jesse E Kelley. They had two children: Florence Virginia (1921-1988) and Howard Edward, born in 1923, a World War II Veteran.

In 1930 they lived in on Orchard Street, Fall City, their real estate was worth $2000 and they built a home for $2490. In 1932 they moved to Holly on the Hood Canal where there was work in the local woods during the Depression.

In 1934 they moved back to Fall City and two years later while Howard was working as a "donkey skinner", he lost his leg when he attempted to free a stuck log. Six months later he joined a partnership and formed Pierce and Stow Shingle Mill, at Tanner above North Bend.

In 1940, age 36, they lived on Baxter Road where their real estate was worth $3000, Howard as an owner operator of the shingle mill working 48 hours a week and earning $2100 for the year.
