PORT LAVACA — Charles "Charlie" Adams, 85, died Sunday in a Del Rio nursing home.
A native of Arkansas, he was born Sept. 21, 1902, to the late Malcom Albert and Eula Ingle Adams. A retired shrimper, Mr. Adams had formerly resided in Seadrift.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Richardson Funeral Home with burial to follow in Seadrift Cemetery.
Surviving are a son, James Gordon Adams of Port O'Connor; two sisters, Madeline Fewell of Crosbyton, Virginia Aufill of Houston; two brothers, James Ingle Adams of Oregon, M.A. Adams of California ; seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Esther J. Adams, a daughter, Corrie Holcomb, and a son, Charles Malcom Adams.
Contributions may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
