He was born May 31, 1929 to Anthony and Stella (Wszolek) Renkiewicz Sr. in Detroit. Tony was a U.S. Army veteran.
On Oct. 16, 1954 he married Regina Louise Smolarz (b. 9-7-36), who survives. He worked at H&H Tube and also worked on the family farm.
In addition to Regina, he is survived by his children, Albert of Gaylord, Lawrence (Carol) of Manton, Arnold (Janet) of Gaylord, Neil (Myken) of Gaylord, Christopher (Gale) of Florida, Harriet Smith of Lewiston, Phillip of North Carolina, Robert of Gaylord and Brian (Kimberly) of Gaylord; daughter-in-law, Kathy Renkiewicz of Gaylord; 23 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
He is also survived by brothers, Steve Renkiewicz and Felix Renkiewicz; sister, Felicia (Floyd) Koscielniak; brothers-in-law, Henry Smolarz, Martin Smolarz and Richard Smolarz; and sister-in-law, Blanche Franckowiak.
Tony was preceded in death by his parents Anthony Sr. and Stella (Wszolek) Renkiewicz, and by his son, Ivan M. Renkiewicz (b. 7 Mar 1958, d. 30 Nov 2003).
Funeral services will be held today (Wednesday, April 12) at noon from St. Mary Cathedral in Gaylord, the Rev. John McCracken officiating.
Burial will follow at Resurrection Cemetery.
