Hannes Theodore Hannesson was born October 30, 1900, in Thingvalla Township, Pembina County, ND the son of Jonas and Rosa (Teitsdottir) Hannesson. He grew up and attended school in Thingvalla Township, near Mountain, where he farmed his entire life. He married Sigridur Thorvardson June 12, 1929, in Mountain, ND. Sigrid died March 31, 1972. In the fall of 1984, he became a resident of the Borg Memorial Home, Mountain, ND.
Survivors are his son, Theodore Hannesson, Gardar, ND.; nine grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Sigrid; and two sons: an infant and Richard "Dick" L. Hannesson; one grandson; one great-grandson; his 2 brothers: Valdimar Hannesson and Freeman Hannesson; and sister, Helga Halldorson.
Funeral services: Tuesday, October 30, 1990, in Thingvalla Lutheran Church, rural Mountain, ND with burial in the church cemetery.
