Mrs. Hazel Lucy Godwin, 78, 1409 NE Sherman, died Saturday at Albany General Hospital following a short illness.

Funeral will be 2p.m. Tuesday at Fisher Funeral Home with the Rev. Morton L. Booth officiating. Burial will be at Willamette Memorial Park.

She was born Nov.28, 1893 at Scio and was a lifetime resident of the Willamette Valley, living in Scio, Crabtree and Salem before coming to Albany in 1935.

She married Harry L. Godwin, April 20, 1915 in Vancouver, Washington. He died May 31, 1968.

She was a member of the Sunrise Garden Club, Riverview Garden Club, Royal Neighbors of America No. 1744, Beulah Rebekah Lodge No. 35 and Oregon Federation of Garden Clubs Inc.

Survivors include a brother, Roy Bates of Lyons; a sister, Mrs. Crystal Lumbeck of Scio; three children, Mrs. Deloris Nebergall of Albany, Mrs.Fern Bratton of Ontario, Robin Godwin of Salem; eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

One daughter Hazel Geneviev Godwin preceded her in death.
